My Fashion Epiphany

Even though I’ve been feeling sick since Christmas, I had to do one last posting for 2010!! After all, it was the year that I had my fashion epiphany…..so I put some curls in my hair and got moving…lol…sick and all. I promised one of my good friends that if I still am coughing up my right lung by Monday, I will find a doctor to go to….

This dress has been hanging in my closet for a couple of months. I scooped it at a thrift store near my job a while back. It was on clearance for I think 2.50….lol. Yes, even thrift stores have clearance racks…awesomeness. And, I didn’t plan for the dress to match the background; it just happened.

These pictures were taken before the hubs and I headed to church to enjoy fellowship with friends and family with a dinner and a wonderful service. We’ll now officially bring in the new year in at home. Its special because this will be out first New Year “celebration” (and by that I mean poppin’ sparkling cider) in our new home…..its the small things….lol…

2010 has been an awesome year for this blog in its short 4 months since I started it….I can’t wait until 2011 to see what lays in store!!! To my wonderful readers, have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR AND BE SAFE. Thanks for all of the support you give My Fashion Epiphany. Stay tuned for 2011!!!

The name of this blog has NOTHING TO DO with anything, but the info commercial for the Perfect Situp was on and the hubs said I should name this post that, so I did…LOL….

Anyways, I got sick 2 days before Christmas and I am JUST starting to feel better; one whole week later….I think it was a mix between the flu and a cold and now my brother and my mom is sick…sorry bro and mom dukes…tis the season for giving?

Sorry this won’t be a outfit post, but look for some soon and very soon; I promise!! Santa brought the hubs Photoshop CS5 for Christmas and decided to edit some of my previous pictures. Take a look below and tell me what you think!!

School is finally done for the fall semester!! Two grades are in so far….one A and a B+!! Whoot whoot! Waiting for one more grade…..but then it starts again the end of January, and I’ll be taking 4 classes….yay……can you see the excitement? But, I’m trying to hurry up and finish….I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and that makes me happy.

So, if you can believe it, it really wasn’t that cold out, even though there was snow on the ground. Its leftover snow from last Thursday. I LOVE this dress that I got from H & M in March 2009 for me to wear in our engagement pictures (Only reason I remember when I bought the dress is because of the pictures..lol) Something different from the typically black dress. It has a matching skinny belt that matches the dress, but I decided to switch it up and use a black thicker belt instead.

I LOVE the fact that I live 20 minutes outside of our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. I’ve lived in Northern Virginia ALL my life and I’ve never been down to see the National Tree, which is located behind the White House on the Ellipse. More about the tree late; before we went to go see the National Tree, we stopped for dinner at Lauriol Plaza. They say they are the best Mexican Food in Washington, D.C. and I for one really believe that!! OMG, its so good………..

Okay, now on to the tree. Since 1923, the lighting of a National Christmas tree has been a tradition in Washington, D.C. on the Ellipse. In 1973, a 42-foot living Colorado Blue Spruce was planted to serve as a permanent National Christmas Tree. Every year, there is a Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to official light the Christmas Tree, which is lit by the current Presidential family. After that, it’s illuminated each evening from dusk until 11 p.m. through January 1st. There are also 56 smaller decorated trees, representing all 50 states, five territories, and the District of Columbia.
